​ARTIST STATEMENT

We All Have Wings was inspired by and created in a time when we all had physical restrictions put on our lives and had the shared experience of a loss of freedom.
This work is a result of an investigation of what freedom feels like, portraying the essence of freedom through the fantasy of flight. Exploring the concept that a sense of freedom can be achieved through our thoughts. We are free to choose what we think about and focus on.
On a personal note, this work reflects on my own journey during lock down; how I escaped into a world of imagination and focused on my freedom to create.
